What could be better than a creamy vanilla ice cream to round off a sunny day like this? Let’s see how to make it at home!
We’ll need:
• 1 cup (250 ml) of heavy cream
• 1 ¼ cups (250 g) of white sugar • 1 sachet of vanilla powder (1/8 tsp)
• 2 ½ cups (600 ml) of fresh whole milk
So, let’s make the vanilla ice cream:
In a saucepan, pour the milk, the heavy cream… the white sugar… and the vanilla. Stir and bring the mixture to 185° degrees Fahrenheit (85°C).
The reason why we heat it to this temperature is to pasteurize the milk. Now, place in a bowl filled with cold water and ice, to cool it down quickly.
When the mixture is cold, keep it in the coldest part of the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Now pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and let it run until the ice cream is thick and firm.
The ice cream is ready, all we have to do is put it in a food container with lid and keep in the freezer for at least 3 hours before serving.
