Bulk Mug Cake Mix ~ ❤️ Valentine Gift in a Jar ❤️ ~ Easy Dessert ~ Noreen’s Kitchen

Valentine’s day is on the way and it’s time to start sharing some fun ways of spreading the love! Today we have another great gift in a jar to share! This time, a super quick and easy bulk mug cake mix that you can whip up in no time with only two simple grocery store ingredients! This is a great mix to give just about anyone for any occasion! You can also make any flavor you like! Make a bunch and have them ready for all those valentines on your list!

This mix is so simple I am almost embarrassed to share it! Two cake mixes. One regular in the flavor of your choice and one angel food cake mix. When I saw this I thought it was brilliant because when I decided I wanted to share a bulk mug cake mix I did not want to included powdered eggs because not everyone can easily get their hands on them without a special order. So this was the perfect answer. The angel food cake is going to give the needed structure to this mug cake. Angel food cake is made up of egg white powder, flour and sugar. This will give our mug cake the perfect structure and crumb.

All you need to do is dump both mixes into a gallon zip top bag and mix together well to incorporate. You want to make sure that you don’t have large pockets of either type of mix and you want a nice even blend. Then you can pop this in a couple of mason jars and decorate them for the gift giving occasion. Since we are looking foward to Valentine’s day I decided chocolate was in order.

To make the mug cake you can use a mug that is at least 12 ounces in size or a mason jar and combine 1/4 cup of the mix with 3 tablespoons of water. Cook this in the microwave on high for 1 minute to 1 minute and 30 seconds depending on the wattage of your microwave and boom, done! Cake! You can eat as is or sprinkle with powdered sugar or top with whipped cream or ice cream or both and drizzle with chocolate syrup or whatever you like!

These are such nice mixes to have on hand for those times when you don’t want to make a big cake or you are just one person and want a quick sweet at the end of the day. This requires little time, effort or energy and you get cake in the end!

You can also choose to add in mini chocolate chips or sprinkles to the mix. I attempted to make “birthday cake” version by adding a yellow cake mix and and angel food cake mix with some sprinkles to the bag and mixing up. OK, I added way too many sprinkles and it was not a good thing. I think I am going to sift those out and try again. The cake tasted great but the sprinkles were a hot mess. So keep this in mind.

If you want to add sprinkles to your mug cake mix gifts, Simply leave some room at the top of the jar and add a little baggie of sprinkles. Instruct the recipient to add some sprinkles to the top of the batter before baking and they can enjoy a much nicer experience than adding them to the bulk mix.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for creating a fun semi homemade gift for Valentine’s day or any day! I hope you give this a try and I hope you love it!

Happy Eating!
