Greetings! Today we are making a very basic Thanksgiving staple! Stuffing or dressing, whatever you want to call it, this is delicious and simple to do. You can use stuffing cubes from a bag or you can toast your own from some homemade bread that you make in advance. I actually cut up some of my homemade hamburger buns into cubes about a week before I made this video and then I toasted them in the oven at around 300 degrees tossing them every so often until they were golden brown. That took about 30 minutes. Be patient and make sure you don’t walk away for too long.
This is a very basic stuffing and very much like the type I grew up with that my mom loves to make. When I was small she stuffed the bird, but anymore, we don’t do that, She often will make her stuffing in the crock pot to save oven space. It always comes out amazing. This has celery, onions, butter, stock, bread cubes and an array of seasonings that you can change up if you prefer something different. I have used parsley, poultry seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and cracked black pepper. I have also baked mine in a foil pan. to save on clean up! I always have lots of foil pans on hand, especially at the holiday time, because they are great for sending leftovers and goodies home with your guests! They are sturdy and they are inexpensive. You can even get lids for them that just slip right on top!
If you like a more adventurous stuffing then you can give this one a try: http://bit.ly/1aZSxIT
It contains apples, dried cranberries and pecans! I love a loaded stuffing, but not everyone does. That one is amazing as well. It is one of my older videos when I didn’t really know what I was doing, but it still demonstrates a good recipe that you can achieve with little effort.
I hope that you will give this a try if you think it is up your alley and I hope you love it!
Happy Eating!
