Today I’m in a devil of a mood, I think I’ll relax by cooking. Help me make meringue bones for my Halloween party. Let’s see what we’ll need.
• 2/3 of a cup of egg whites
• 1 and 2/3 cups of sugar
• A teaspoon of vanilla
• And a pinch of salt.
Let’s go!
Into the bowl of a kitchen mixer pour the egg whites. Add a pinch of salt, and whip them together to form stiff peaks. The egg whites are well whipped. Now, add the sugar and the vanilla and leave it to whip for at least another 10 minutes at a medium speed.
This is the proper consistency you’ll need for the meringue. Now, take a pastry bag, and fit it with a round, smooth, medium-sized nozzle. Then fill it with the meringue.
Now, take a baking sheet , lightly butter it, and then line it with parchment paper. This way the paper won’t slip around. Now, here’s how to form the bone shapes on the parchment paper.
Here’s our sheet of bones. Now, all you need do is bake them for 2 to 3 hours at 175F. If you have a convection oven, use that setting. To test when the meringues are finished, all you need is to touch them. They should be hard and dry.
Ooo look at our delicious bones! I definitely recommend watching the rest of our Halloween recipes..or else…
