“Dessert – Dawin ft. Silento | The Cupcake War” is the third episode of DanceOn’s ARTIST REQUEST, a weekly series that pairs emerging music artists with industry-leading choreographers and dancers. This episode of ARTIST REQUEST was directed and edited by DanceOn’s lead director David Javier.
Brooklyn-born vocalist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Dawin first turned heads with the 2014 viral smash “Just Girly Things,” which eventually racked up over 4.7 million Spotify streams and a cumulative total of over 100 million Vine loops in the span of just a year. Follow-up single “Dessert” is achieving even greater accolades. Upon release, it landed at #4 on iTunes Top Electronic Songs Chart and #1 on Shazam’s US Trending Chart. The track already went Gold in New Zealand and spread internationally, as the top song in the Philippines. Now, its official remix features red hot multiplatinum rapper Silentó.
Choreographers, Janelle Ginestra and Will “Willdabeast” Adams are two of the most innovative and lauded choreographers in the game.
Janelle’s work has been seen on Glee, BRAVO’s “Step it Up and Dance”, So You Think You Can Dance, Community, X Factor, America’s Got Talent, Billboard Awards and more. She’s also starred in films including Honey 2, and Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. Janelle has toured or appeared with with P!NK, Jennifer Lopez, and Nicki Minaj.
Willdabeast has danced and worked with the likes of Usher, T-Pain, The Black Eyed Peas, Jason Derulo, Zendaya, 5th Harmony, Demi Lovato, GLEE, X-Factor, Nissan, MTV, Butterfinger, and Madonna. Choreography credits include T-Pain, DJ Tiesto, GRL, Erika Jayne, ABDC, So You Think You Can Dance, and Nike. He is also the creator and mastermind of immaBEAST one of the leading brands, companies, and influences in the hip hop dance world.
