Greetings! Molly and I were thinking of a cute way to make some rice krispy treats for Valentine’s day. This is what we came up with. We made the traditional recipe for Rice Krispy treats with marshmallows, butter and cereal and we pressed it into a regular cake pan. We let it cool and firm up for at least an hour and then cut heart shapes out of it with a cookie cutter. We used the extra treats and pressed them into the cookie cutter so we could use everything up,

We topped the treats with some melted candy melts in red and pink then sprinkled away to decorate. Then we drizzled white candy melts over the top to make a lacy pattern. Placed the treats on a baking sheet and put them in the fridge for about 10 minutes to firm up. Then we put sucker sticks in some and put others in some red foil cupcake liners that we turned inside out.

These were fun and simple to make. They will be a cute addition to your Valentine’s day. They are perfect to make for your family or co workers or if you are still able to make treats for school, unlike me, these are perfect to make for a classroom full of kids. They are not that expensive to make and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Pop these into a cello bag and tie it with a ribbon and you have a really cute presentation.

Don’t limit yourself to just Valentines day either. These are great for any occasion! Think Easter, 4th of July, Back to School, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Baby and Wedding Showers and Birthdays! This idea is really versatile!

I hope that you try this and I hope that you love it!

Happy Eating!
