Welcome to my cooking classes, today you’ll learn how to make glace icing!
GLACE ICING
The glace icing is a type of icing that is used for decorating cakes, cookies or cupcakes: let’s see how to make it!
We’ll need: just under 1 cup (100 g) of powdered sugar, about 2 tablespoons of boiling-hot water, and food colourings.
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil. In the meantime, sift the powdered sugar into a bowl. Add the hot water to the sugar, a spoon at a time, stirring until the sugar thickens to a creamy consistency: if the mixture is too runny, add more sugar; on the contrary, if it’s too thick, slowly add more water.
If you want colored icing, add the food colouring a little at a time, in gel, powder or liquid form, until you achieve the desired colour.
Use a spoon to spread the icing on top of your cupcakes and decorate as you wish.
