Mackerel Sashimi Made From Whole Fish

How to cut fish in to sashimi, this video teaches you have to cut a mackerel in to sashimi starting from a whole fish. Chef Davy Devaux shows you in clear and easy steps how to gut the fish then fillet the fish, after that he cures the raw fish using salt (30 min) and marinates it in rice vinegar mixture over night. Once it has marinated in the vinegar mixture he shows you how to cut the mackerel into thin sashimi slices.

Sashimi is one of the oldest and most traditional ways the eat Japanese sushi, it generally consists of raw fish slices which are accompanied by soy sauce, wasabi paste and pickled ginger.
