Are you craving for an American breakfast? Why don’t you prepare some appetizing pancakes? Sweet and soft, served with maple syrup, they’re perfect also for brunch or as a snack. But let’s see together what ingredients we’ll need:
• less than 1 cup (200 ml) of milk
• 3 ½ tsp (15 g) of white sugar
• 1 ¼ tsp (6 g) of baking powder
• ¼ stick (25 g) of butter
• 1 cup (125 g) of flour
• 2 medium eggs And for garnishing:
• fresh berries
• powdered sugar
and
• maple syrup
Let’s make together the pancakes:
First, separate the yolks from the egg whites, then pour the milk into a bowl, add the 2 yolks and the melted butter and mix well. Now add the sifted flour and baking powder.
Add a pinch of salt to the batter, and beat the egg whites, not too stiff, with the sugar. Then fold them gently into the batter, stirring from bottom to top.
It’s time to cook the pancakes, so take a small frying pan, grease with a little butter, and add a small ladle of dough into the centre. Let it spread out on its own. Wait a minute, then we’ll flip it over with a spatula and cook on the other side.
Now we’re ready to flip the pancake over; make sure to cook it on a low-medium heat, so the pancake has time to rise while cooking.
