Vatrushka are sweet pastries made from a yeast dough, filled with a sweet cheese filling. Like little pillows, these moreish vatrushka are entirely worth the effort! Making the dough is rather easy, it’ll just take a bit of patience while you wait for it to rise.
True Russian vatrushka are made with Russian farmers’ cheese, or tvorog. If you can’t find tvorog, you can use ricotta cheese instead.
